Mother’s Day Tea in Central Park Gardens

Tour de Cluck is coming in May!
Tour de Cluck is now more than a bicycle coop loop–there will be “Chicken Skool” talks, art events, Fowl Food throughout Davis culminating in a Fowl Food Finale at Sutter Davis Hospital. Davis Farm to School and its new parent non-profit, Yolo Farm to Fork, benefit from many of these activities. Harper Jr. High’s Garden and Recycle Coordinator, Carrie Juchau, will be offering an introductory agriculture class for jr. high students. The class meets after school on Thursdays . Click here for more information.

Farm to School/DJUSD Team Meeting
On Feb. 7, 2013 garden coordinators and DavisRISE recycle coordinators from DJUSD schools met to compare notes and problem solve. They also participated in a complementary, hands-on demonstration of the Tomato Time curriculum. Jeri Ohmart led the group through the lesson plans and everyone made different flavored salsas. The next garden meeting is May 2, 2013 at Montgomery Elementary.
Sat. August 25 , 2012: Village Feast–look for VF 2013 on Aug. 24
The 8th Annual Village Feast was held on Saturday, August 25th, set in the award-winning Davis Central Park. This event has become an end of summer staple marked by a lovely community gathering with a silent auction and a bountiful meal to raise funds for the Davis Farm to School programs.
