Join Us for The Virtual Village Feast

The Davis Village Feast celebrates the Sacramento-region Farm to Fork season where we gather to enjoy and honor the bounty of our local farmers. In past years we have met together for an afternoon of dining at a communal long table in Davis Central Park, in the style of a Provencal Grand Aioli.

This year, because of the pandemic, we are hosting the entire event online!

The 2021 Virtual Village Feast will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1 to 2:30 pm PST, and you can register, for FREE, at https://thevillagefeast2021.eventbrite.com

The event is free to attend; there are three ways to participate:

1) An online auction with fabulous items donated by chefs, restaurants, wineries, and community members. Register for the silent auction at https://www.auctria.com/auction/villagefeast.

2) A live Zoom hosted event, where we will be celebrating community, sharing our home feasts virtually, playing Trivia games, closing out the online auctions, all the while raising funds for our missions. Register for the Virtual Village Feast at www.thevillagefeast.com

3) Enjoying the Village Feast at home. What is a “virtual” feast without a “feast”? There are several options for enjoying the Feast at home:

  • Local restaurants and caterers, Bella Bru Cafe, Hawk's Provisions + Public House, and Pannier Foods will be offering ready-to-eat Provencal-inspired meals to pick up or for delivery.

  • Farm Fresh To You is offering both an “aperitif” box (baguette, olives, roasted nuts, cheese) and a CSA ingredient box to make your own Grand Aioli feast at home.

  • The Davis Food Co-op will be offering a special selection of Yolo and Sacramento County wines to accompany your feast.

  • Co-founders of the Village Feast, Ann Evans and Georgeanne Brennan, have included recipes for dishes you can make at home in this article in the Davis Enterprise.

  • Once you sign up for the Virtual Village Feast, we will send more information about how you can order a meal from our food partners.

REGISTER NOW TO SECURE YOUR SPOT at https://thevillagefeast2021.eventbrite.com

Once you are registered for the event, please add the event to your calendar and sign up for the silent auction, which is now open for bidding! Once you are registered for the Village Feast, we will email you details of how to order your food and participate in the Zoom call on Saturday, October 9th from 1-2:30pm.

Who benefits from this Fundraiser?

Les Dames d’Escoffier Sacramento Chapter and Davis Farm to School are working together to support education programs around food and agriculture. Davis Farm to School provides garden grants, farm field trips and support for farm-fresh food in the schools. The Dames provide funds for women with children in the Saint John's Program for Real Change (a residential shelter with a culinary training program), as well as scholarships to women in food, wine, agriculture, and hospitality. All proceeds from The Village Feast go toward these missions.

Looking forward to seeing you at the 2021 Virtual Village Feast.
